International event series, Black Web Fest, recently launched call for entries for their 2019 season. Their annual festival takes place in New York and is geared toward celebrating Black media makers and digital content. Selected films will screen during their two-day festival in April. The event gives underrepresented filmmakers and creators an opportunity to showcase their work and discover new audiences. Along with screening the top films creators can win a cash prizes in each category. Submissions are opened from July 15, 2018 to December 15, 2018.
For the first time ever, Black Web Fest has opened a category specifically for Black animators. “Black Web Fest focuses on emerging media and burgeoning talent. We added animation this year to give Black animators a space to showcase their work” said Victoria Coker, Black Web Fest Founder.
