The creators of the comedic web series “Fried Eggs”, Brittney Jones and Lyne Bickerstaff, share their inspiration behind the series.
What inspired you to create “Fried Eggs”?
Fried Eggs was inspired by our real life, we both felt once you turn thirty if you’re not married or you don’t have kids then something is wrong with you. Instead of embracing it and letting love find you a lot of women stay in bad relationships, rush in to marriage or try to trap their partners with a child or manipulation. You can’t make a guy want you and you can’t force love.
What motives the character Mia in the show?
Mia is motivated by finding true love.
The series chronicles different types of women and their dating styles. What made you choose to feature these types of women?
Actually each story is based on a real person that we know, so we just hope when they watch the episodes they don’t figure it out!
From the list you’ve created, which is your favorite type of women?
Our favorite woman was in episode eight, she didn’t let her relationship jeopardize her truth.
What was your biggest obstacle creating the series and how did you overcome the challenge?
For us it was funding, it takes a lot of work and time to create webisodes and the costs add up fast.
What is the most important message you want women to gain from the series?
Love yourself first and let love find you!
Being a media maker of color how has digital media been a game changer?
It allows us to not only show our talent but tell our stories.
The finale left us with a cliffhanger. What can fans expect next from the “Fried Eggs” team?
Yes, the girls will be back for a second season in 2016.
